BRETT WOODWARD
Brett co-founded Charleston, SC based Blue Current Development in 2008 and continues to manage the company and its pursuits including all development aspects. Over the past 20 years, Brett has completed numerous real estate developments throughout the southeastern US, from Mississippi through the Carolinas and Florida.
Prior to founding Blue Current Development, Brett held senior positions with the I’On Company, Barkley Fraser Commercial, The Greenbrier Sporting Club and Twin Rivers Capital.
In 2018 Brett expanded BCD’s focus from retail to the industrial, hospitality and residential sector. BCD has acquired existing assets and are working on ground up developments for all of these asset classes.
After attending the University of Georgia, Brett joined the US Navy where he was forward deployed to Atsugi, Japan and provided helicopter support for the Joint Forces in the Middle East and surrounding theatres of operation. After his departure from the Navy, he pursued his real estate career.
Brett, his wife and two children reside in Charleston, SC.
ERIC LEINEWEBER
Eric joined Blue Current Development as a Principal in 2009. He brings over 25 years of commercial real estate experience.
Since 2009, Eric has completed over 70 ground up development and redevelopment projects in SC, GA, MS, and FL.
His experience encompasses client relationships, site selection, lease negotiations, feasibility, due diligence, site planning, budgeting, entitlement, finance, land acquisition, project management and construction oversight through the disposition of varying asset classes.
Eric began his real estate career directly out of college with Maxwell Properties – previously an Atlanta based grocery store developer. He then oversaw a 2.5 million square foot retail portfolio with Spectrum Realty Advisors (now Colliers) where he further honed his real estate Brokerage/Development/Management skills.
Eric moved to Charleston in 2004 to join Twin Rivers Capital as a Development Partner completing dozens of ground up projects before making the transition to Blue Current Development.
Eric lives in Mount Pleasant, SC with his wife Nancy and their three children.
Cooper Fowler
Cooper is a co-founder in Blue Current. A graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, Cooper started his professional career in the marketing world and as a real estate developer and investor. After selling his successful web development and marketing firm, Cooper’s attention turned completely towards real estate development and finance. Cooper has worked on retail and restaurant development, multi-family projects, condo projects, office, mixed-use, and raw land development. For four years, Cooper also worked in finance as a regional manager for Prime Solutions – a North Carolina based firm.
Cooper currently serves on the board of Biscuitville, Inc. – a North Carolina-based restaurant chain. In addition to serving on the company’s board, Cooper is presently a manager of his family’s real estate funds, providing consulting regarding site review, financing, sales and acquisitions, and overall investment strategy.
Additionally, Cooper is a managing partner in the Blue Current subsidiary of Blue Current Development, and provides oversight in finance, deal structuring, investment strategies, sales, marketing, and public relations.
Cooper lives in Charleston, SC with his wife Meghan and their five children.
DENISE THERIAULT
Denise joined the Blue Current Development team in 2014 after owning and managing a general contracting firm in Connecticut for over 20 years. Since joining the BCD team, she has managed several retail and restaurant developments along the southeast coast, Mississippi and Alabama. Denise’s proactive management style brings passion for building and a strong work ethic to each and every project.
In addition to project management, Denise actively manages BCD’s commercial and residential properties in South Carolina and Florida with expertise in tenant retention, asset improvements, and lease administration. She holds a BS in Business Administration, is a SC licensed Realtor, and a member of the National Association of Realtors.
